Hotel Belvedere Scuol is in the town of Scuol, in Switzerland's Lower Engardine Valley, and has impressive mountain and valley views. It occupies an elegant building dating from the 19th century, and has a modernised wing and a contemporary annex opposite the main building. The hotel is joined via a covered walkway to the Bogn Engiadina wellness centre -- which guests can visit for no extra charge -- and is a 15-minute walk from the funicular lift to the Motta Naluns ski area. The 11th-century Schloss Tarasp, which is set atop a 100-metre-high cliff, and wildlife rich Swiss National Park are within 15 minutes' drive of the hotel.
Hotel Belvedere Scuol has a chic bar with leather furnishings and a fireplace, a kids' play area, an Art Nouveau-style wraparound veranda and a reading corner in the lobby. Guests can enjoy regional specialties in the restaurant, which is spread over three dining rooms, including a grand room with rustic-style wood-panelled walls. Other amenities include a spa with a range of beauty treatments (supplements apply) and a wellness area featuring a sauna, a steam room, whirlpool tubs and a mountain-view garden. Guests get ski passes and use of the ski buses in winter, and passes for the Motta Naluns cable car during summer.
Rooms are spread between the hotel’s main building and its modern annexes. Rooms in the main building have seating areas, a TV and free Wi-Fi. Higher tariff rooms add wood floors and luxurious touches such as Philippe Starck furnishings. Rooms in the refurbished wing are finished in granite and oak, and come with coffee machines; some have mountain views and freestanding baths. Chic suites in the annex opposite the main building offer kitchens and living/dining areas.
