Located near Amsterdam's Westerpark, the 4-star Westcord Art Hotel Amsterdam is well connected to the city centre and attractions such as Anne Frank's House via the frequent bus service that stops five minutes' walk away. You could also hire a bike to get around -- the hotel rents bikes for 12.50€ a day. The waterfront and Theater Amsterdam are both 15 minutes' walk.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool (open during the summer months) and free Wi-Fi. Décor is modern throughout, with splashes of colour, and an impressive art collection from Dutch painter Herman Brood.
The Art Brasserie is open for lunch and dinner, and serves a full buffet breakfast in the morning. There's a pleasant terrace for al fresco dining in warm weather. Complimentary coffee is served in reception all day, and in the morning there are mini croissants for those without time to sit down for breakfast.
Bedrooms are a good size and all have air conditioning, Nespresso coffee machines, tea-making facilities and colourful artwork on the walls. Most have a separate glass-walled shower cubicle in the bedroom, so may not be suitable for friends travelling together. Upgrade to a suite for more space, a separate seating area and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom.
