Loved the rooftop bar but unfortunately a couple of the days we were here were cold, windy and rainy so it was closed most of the time. Everyone was very kind and helpful and we enjoyed drinking our wine by the fire in the living room. This is a historic hotel, built in 1929, so no central air. It was unusually cold but the nice bedding kept us warm. Walked the beach and all over town so good location.

Interesting old building, whihc you can tell has lots of history. Roof top views are amazing. the staff was pretty good for the most part. The only thing that bothered me was the text messages checking on us. Don't get me wrong, I thought they were a nice touch and thing other hotels should do similarly. But they addressed me as Mx. Freemer. That irked me. I would prefer they ask me when I book or even just use my first name.

Get weekend getaway. Loved our room and the location is excellent. The have live music on Saturday and Sunday and both artist were excellent. Can't beat the rooftop bar. Wonderful view and the food was excellent. We can't wait to come back.

Great location on PCH. Room was small but nicely decorated with blackout curtains. Staff were all very friendly. Other than the parking which was across the street and very cramped, which left me with a nice dent on the side from someone who didn’t leave a note! Need better parking arrangements or larger lot.

We have stayed at La Casa del Camino before. The first time was through Travelzoo. We have gone back several times and have enjoyed it very much every time. When I saw the current Travelzoo offer we were excited to use it and visit again. The room was very nice with an ocean view. The room was quiet and comfortable.

The location is great. It is walking distance to downtown Laguna. There are restaurants nearby. We wanted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but they were closed during the week. The rooftop bar is great but the menu is limited.

We always enjoy coming to La Casa. Our room was big, comfortable and quiet.
I would suggest lowering the bed a bit or add a step stool for shorter people like us. Also, adding a coffee maker in the room would be nice for that first cup in the morning without having to go down to the lobby.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay!

It is a wonderful place to stay. The service is excellent, and the staff goes out of their way to be of assistance. They are very friendly, and helpful . We would like to stay there again. The hotel is in a central location. There are a number of restaurants nearby. There is a free trolley that takes you from one end of town to the other so it is easy to get around from the hotel. The ocean and Cress Beacch is a one minute (or less) walk.

I made my reservation for Thurs. feb.2nd but saw that it was supposed to rain so called the hotel to make my res.for Feb 1st with same "surf" room and ocean view. They said no problem and changed days for me. We were able to sit at their Rooftop restaurant until 11am and enjoy the views before the restaurant opened as there was no room deck or patio for hotel guests. There was a nice fire place in the lobby to warm up by .

I think this is the most uncomfortable hotel I've ever stayed in. From unloading and parking problems to a tiny room and bathroom, no hot water in sink, no comfortable chairs to sit in and no screens in the windows, it's been disappointing. We should be comfortable for what we are paying. My friend and I are in our 60s and 70s. Instead of a refreshing vacation, we came home exhausted.

Arrival check in was easy. Staff was great. But our “ocean view” room was extremely small. Ocean view was limited. So that was disappointing. The room was so small there wasn’t anywhere to open our suitcases. And there wasn’t really anywhere to put clothes. Definitely not enough room in the micro closet. The closet was barely wider than the safe. Just give you a visual. The bathroom was small. But the main issue was the water soaked carpet. We didn’t really notice it until we returned to our room later that night and took our shoes off. So we stayed for the night. We reported it first thing in the morning. They sent a maintenance guy out and he said it was due to the a/c leaking. So they would bring up heaters to dry it out. We decided to ask to move to another room. When we went to the main desk I must say the staff was really great. They accommodated us immediately. The good news, the room was much larger and a cool “castle “ vibe to it. The bad news, no view. Our windows looked right out to a wall. But if you looked down there was a tiny courtyard. But that was fine. I was willing to do the trade off. The staff wasn’t extremely knowledgeable about places to eat. Their very popular rooftop bar was closed our entire stay. So that too was disappointing. Apparently this rooftop bar is supposed to be one of the best LB.
For the discounted rate we paid we were still happy with our stay. But if we had to pay full room rate.. no!
I would recommend to friends with some caveats. But I don’t think I would stay there again, given the many other hotel options in Laguna. And also the location was a little distant from the main restaurants and bars and downtown.

The location is great and the staff is nice. The rooms are small but come with a fridge. The thin walls are problematic, definitely sounds like there is no wall between you and the hallway. I appreciated the free snacks that were made available with the morning coffee/tea; the provided bottled water and being able to use the gym down the street.

From the moment I walked through the doors of this enchanting historic hotel, the magic began. The fireplace was aglow, making the lobby a cozy place to unwind. Gonzalo & Steviejo greeted me & immediately provided me an upgrade to a Surfer Room. Jake at Rooftop, served me the best coconut shrimp I have ever tasted, Hillary shared with me the architectural history of the building & stories of the iconic figures who had graced this building throughout the years. Phelton & Marfilia made sure all my needs were met & that my stay would be safe & comforting. This is family. I stumbled upon a gold mine due to the Travelzoo Special.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casa del Camino. Our casual dinner on the rooftop while watching the sun go down was perfect. Walking the streets of Laguna Beach and browsing the art galleries took up most of our days after which we sat on a bench at the beach and watched the people and birds. We even saw a 10-month old take his first steps.

Overall this was a wonderful experience. I booked this trip at the last minute choosing the room upgrade which was only about $30 more. These rooms were very special, each of the 10 designed by a different artist. More of a mini-suite than a room, mine was the 'Billabong Suite' with a sofa, eames chairs, bed, desk, great lighting. The rooftop bar/restaurant not only had an amazing unobstructed ocean view, but the staff was very friendly and the food was good. Also, the bottle of Pinot Noir was waiting in the room with two glasses.
