This design hotel is next to Munich's main railway station and is also within a 20-minute walk of city-centre attractions such as Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt, where you can order a drink and a bite to eat in the tree-shaded garden.
Theresienwiese, the official ground of the Oktoberfest, is around a kilometre from the hotel. For a bird's-eye view of the city, head up the 306 steps to the viewing platform of St Peterskirche, which is Munich's oldest church and is about 1.5 kilometres from the hotel.
There are plenty of shops and eateries in the area around the hotel, and while there isn't an on-site restaurant, there's a self-service snack bar where you can pick up light bites such as sandwiches and salads. There's also a lounge opening to a courtyard garden where you can relax with a drink in the summer months. For signature cocktails and live music, head to the hotel's W XYZ Bar.
Rooms are decorated in a smart contemporary style with crisp white bed linen and a colour scheme of navy with accents of red and orange. Some have city views, while others overlook the leafy courtyard.
