East Sussex National is around 10 minutes' drive from the South Downs National Park (an International Dark Sky Reserve) and the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making the hotel a great base from which to explore their rolling hills and bustling market towns.

Brighton is 40 minutes' drive away. Lewes, which has a Norman castle, is 15 minutes' drive; you can also visit Anne of Cleves's house, which was given to her by Henry VIII as part of their divorce settlement. The historic town of Battle, where the Battle of Hastings took place in 1066, is approximately 40 minutes' drive away.

East Sussex National was recently awarded four AA Silver Stars, an accolade given to properties offering a superior level of quality in hospitality, service and cleanliness.

The Pavilion Restaurant has two AA Rosettes and serves a collection of dishes prepared with ingredients sourced from local suppliers. The Hunnington Restaurant and Ryder Bar & Terrace is in the golf club house and serves traditional home cooking, light lunches and sandwiches. The Sussex Lounge has outdoor seating in the gardens or on the balcony terrace.

Club Rooms have Wi-Fi and private balconies overlooking the golf course.

The health club offers aerobics classes (supplements apply) and its facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a spa pool, a sauna, and steam room and a gym. Horsted Spa has an aromatherapy room, a monsoon shower, a Jacuzzi, a steam room, a sauna and a relaxation room. Massages and exfoliation treatments are available at a supplement but there is limited availability in the spa on weekends and treatments should be pre-booked. There are also two golf courses: the East Course and West Course.

very limited menu, not much choice, breakfast - poor quality bacon and not cooked enough. Trays left in corridors for very long time and when collected litter left behind. disappointed with bar, only one brewery stocked and if you don't like this brand, (which I don't) then stuffed for drinks. Mattress vey soft, did not sleep very well

The food was not up to standard . We ordered our dinner on the finel night and after thee attempts they still count not get our order done correctly so we had to go to bed hungry , which upset the whole experience . It was a shame as we haven't had a bad booking with you until now 😩Kind regards Phil Broadway
