Set on 476 acres overlooking the Potomac River, the AAA 4-Diamond Lansdowne Resort and Spa, A Destination Hotel, is “like a vacation within a vacation” (U.S. News & World Report). With five pools, three tennis courts, three golf courses, a 12,000-square-foot spa, and miles of hiking trails, boredom is hard to come by at this resort in Leesburg, Virginia.
The 296 guest rooms and suites offer views of the resort, golf course or Potomac River. Complimentary Wi-Fi, minifridges and coffeemakers are standard in all rooms. Book a suite for more space and upgraded amenities. Some suites even have private balconies.
Choice is the name of the game when it comes to dining at the resort. The new Coton and Rye tavern serves locally-sourced dishes and a wide array of beer, wine and signature cocktails. For breakfast with a view, head to Riverside Hearth where you can pile your plate with the likes of made-to-order eggs, fresh fruit and waffles while taking in views of the resort through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Piedmont’s Table, located in the Golf Club at Lansdowne, serves modern American fare, such truffle fries, cedar plank salmon and wild mushroom bread pudding.
Grab your goggles and swim cap and get in a few laps at the heated indoor lap pool. Kids of all ages can enjoy the waterslide and interactive fountain at the outdoor aquatic center. For a quieter pool experience, head to the adults-only pool.
The two 18-hole courses designed by Robert Trent Jones II and Greg Norman are a golfer’s delight. There’s also a Greg Norman-designed 9-hole course suited for all skill levels.
Tesla owners will appreciate the complimentary on-site charging stations, as well as free coffee, Wi-Fi, and exclusive discounts on food, beverages, and spa treatments.
