Villa i Laghi
Why We Love This Hotel
- Classic Tuscan retreat between Florence and Livorno
- The eight apartments are set in converted farm buildings
- Each apartment has a private terrace or a garden, and there is an outdoor pool
Villa i Laghi is a collection of eight apartments set in traditional farm buildings surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees in the Tuscan countryside.
The rustic apartments are less than an hour's drive from Florence and just over an hour's drive away from Livorno, an Italian port on the west coast known for its seafood, Renaissance-era fortifications and modern harbour.
The hilltop village of Montaione is less than a 15-minute drive from the apartments, and it's home to the 400-year-old Sacro Monte di San Vivaldo monastery, which has chapels and temples to explore. For local culture, visit the small town of Castelfiorentino, which is also a 15-minute drive. You can see the Church of San Francesco and the Museo Benozzo Gozzoli, which houses restored frescoes painted by Benozzo Gozzoli.
The apartments feature beamed ceilings, iron beds and brick fireplaces, and are furnished with natural stone, cedar wood and terra-cotta floors. They can sleep between three and five people, and each has its own private terrace or garden.
There's an outdoor pool lined with loungers, and plenty of chairs and tables to dine alfresco. The property can arrange cooking classes and food tours in the area, including seasonal truffle hunts.
The Corbucci winery is approximately 25 minutes by car and the farm has 25 hectares of vineyards and olive groves.
