The Dunhill Hotel, located in Uptown Charlotte, is the city's only historic and boutique hotel. The location puts guests within walking distance of art galleries, museums, the full spectrum of dining experiences, nightlife and shopping. The property is a short walk from Bank of America Stadium, Time Warner Cable Arena and BB&T Ballpark.

Designed by Louis Asbury, North Carolina's first accredited architect, the Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline as an amalgam of American, British and Italian influences. The property opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, and today's Dunhill Hotel is a thoughtful evolution. A full restoration and ongoing aesthetic improvements maintain Mr. Asbury's original vision while accommodating the needs of the modern traveler.

The 60-room boutique hotel offers guests true Southern hospitality with amenities such as free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a complimentary artisanal breakfast served daily and tea and coffee service with house-made cookies until 8pm. Nightly turndown service includes Ghirardelli chocolate and information about one of the seasonal local artworks displayed in the dining room of the hotel’s restaurant, The Asbury.

The Asbury offers dishes with a Carolina flavor: modern yet rustic, with heirloom ingredients native to the area, as well as specialty items grown on small family farms in the region.

Guests receive complimentary passes to the nearby YMCA, which has a pool and fitness classes. The hotel also provides by-request shuttle service to destinations within a two-mile radius (available 7am-10:30pm daily).

Enjoyed Most: The location was great!
Other Comments: The small bathroom needs ventilation. It was too steamy to do hair and/or make-up after a steamy shower. The room was too warm. Although it was set on 62 degrees (the lowest allowed), it was nowhere near that cool. We're used to sleeping at 75 degrees, but felt too warm at night. The bed might have been a queen - possibly a full/double. Also, the walls were not insulated well. We heard everything our neighbors were doing! It would also have been nice to have a microwave. The Asbury restaurant was high-priced and very noisy. We won't eat there again.
