Map & Directions

To fully explore the area, a car is recommended due to the hotel's countryside location. Hucknall railway station and tram stop is around five miles from the hotel. Expect to pay around £10 for a taxi from the station. A direct train from Nottingham to Hucknall takes around 15 minutes and costs from £2.40 for a single ticket. East Midlands Airport is 27 miles away. Expect to pay in the region of £35 for a taxi to the airport. There is free parking at the hotel.

Set in almost three acres of grounds with mature trees and lavender -fringed lawns, the Cockliffe Country House Hotel offers a peaceful retreat that's just eight miles from Nottingham city centre. Once a farmhouse, the château- style Grade II-listed building dates from the 17th century and has architectural features including arched windows and turreted roofs.

Its location, not far from the A60 and A614, makes it a popular choice for both business and leisure travellers. Local attractions include the Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, which has two courses and is just two miles from the hotel. Papplewick Pumping Station, which was completed in 1884 and is billed as Britain's finest Victorian water works, is just a 5-minute drive away.

With its high ceilings and garden views, the hotel's fine- dining restaurant offers an elegant setting in which to enjoy contemporary British cuisine. It's open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Traditional afternoon tea, including freshly baked scones and homemade pastries, is also served in the light and airy dining room. Weather permitting, there's outside seating on the patio for al fresco drinks and dining. 

There are 11 individually decorated rooms at the hotel; seven are in the main house and four are in converted barns and outbuildings. Some have original features such as chunky wooden beams. Pets are allowed in some ground -floor rooms for an additional charge.

Extra bed available on request: £25 per person, per night - for children aged 11 and under in Superior and Executive rooms only. This includes breakfast.
There are no extra beds available for older children or adults.

Pets: Pets are allowed on request and will be required to stay in the stables. £15 per pet, per night.
