Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- The hotel lies in Neumarkt square in the heart of Dresden
- The Royal Palace, the Zwinger, the Semper Opera House and Albertinum Museum are within 10 minutes' walk from the hotel
- Some rooms have views of the Frauenkirche
“Wake up to the best views of the Frauenkirche” at the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe, says Lonely Planet. The hotel is opposite the iconic dome of the Frauenkirche, a church that was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War and was rebuilt in 2005. Be sure to climb the dome for excellent city views. Located on Neumarkt in Dresden’s Old Town, the hotel is 10 minutes' walk from Zwinger museums and the Semperoper Dresden opera house.
The hotel’s Restaurant de Saxe serves diverse dishes with international flair. During the summer, you can go out onto the terrace and admire the Baroque buildings, which ring the pretty cobbled square of Neumarkt.
The hotel's gym is open from 6am-10pm, and there's also a relaxation room and well-equipped spa suite, complete with Finnish sauna, Kneipp bath and a Sanarium (with colour therapy).
The entry-level rooms overlook the atrium or side streets -- for Frauenkirche views you will need to upgrade to a Deluxe room, and you’ll also get free parking. Suites offer similarly impressive views and more space. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property (free access is limited to 256KBs).
