By public transport:
From the airport, take the IC bus towards Auckland Central (CBD), which costs between NZD $12-$27 and takes 41 minutes; from there, the hotel is an 8-minute walk via Hobson Street (head north on Hobson Street and turn right on Victoria Street West, then turn left onto Albert Street and the hotel will be on the right).

By private transfer/taxi:
The hotel offers airport transfers for groups from NZD $133-$160. Alternatively, you can take a taxi for NZD $60-$70 (Uber X is cheaper at NZD $45-$60), which will take about 18 minutes.

By car:
Head northwest on George Bolt Memorial Drive and take the second exit onto State Highway 20A at the second roundabout, then merge onto State Highway 20. Then take exit 18 for Urban Route 4. Turn left on Upper Queen Street and follow to Queen Street. Turn left onto Mayoral Drive and continue onto Albert Street, where the hotel is on the right.

The Stamford Plaza is a contemporary 4.5-star hotel on lively downtown Albert Street near Viaduct Harbour, in the heart of the city's buzzing multicultural Central Business District (CBD), yet only a half an hour away from beaches, scenic hiking trails and islands with a distinct Polynesian flavour.

Among Auckland's prime attractions is its iconic 220-metre-high Sky Tower with its 360-degree panoramic views up to 80km in every direction, which is only a 6-minute walk from the hotel. Viaduct Harbour, with its plethora of yachts and super-yachts, restaurants, bars and shops, is a 9-minute walk from the hotel. You can also take a ferry via the Downtown Ferry Terminal 2 (6 minutes' walk from the hotel) out to the beautiful Waiheke Island, with its serene olive groves, vineyards, art galleries and pristine beaches, or visit the beach and lively promenade at Mission Bay, which is a 14-minute walk/bus ride from the hotel or a 10-minute taxi/Uber ride, costing NZD $17-$28.

The hotel's dining options include the elegant Knights on Albert Restaurant, which serves a large breakfast buffet of over 80 items, as well as lunch and dinner; the Knights Lobby Bar, which serves cocktails and bar food, as well as Stamford High Teas; there is also the Kabuki Teppanyaki Restaurant, which serves Japanese cuisine for lunch and dinner. Additional facilities at the hotel include a fitness centre with a gym/workout room; a pool with a hot tub; two ballrooms and seven conference and event rooms; a concierge; a business centre with internet access; and babysitting, dry-cleaning and laundry services. On-site valet parking is available and costs NZD $45 per day.

Superior rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, with free bottled water, coffee- and tea-making facilities, a plush bathrobe and slippers, a safe, a large writing desk, a mini bar, and cable TV with OnDemand movies. Executive rooms add a 40-inch LED Smart TV, climate control and smart sensor lighting, a separate bath and shower, l’Occitane toiletries and additional feather pillows.
