A 40-minute drive south of Thessaloniki, the Secret Paradise Hotel & Spa is a beachfront retreat with a spa inspired by ancient Greece.
Located at the western edge of the Halkidiki peninsula, the hotel is right on the beach and offers easy access to Nea Moudania (a 20-minute drive away), which is home to a 2000-seat amphitheatre and a golden-sand beach with views of Mount Olympus. The Petralona Cave, an ancient Macedonian archaeological site and museum is also within a 20-minute drive. In Thessaloniki, don't miss the White Tower, a museum and viewing platform in a former Ottoman prison, and Yeni Hamam, a 16th-century Turkish-bath-turned-restaurant.
The hotel features an indoor pool and a small outdoor pool. Breakfast is served daily, and Mediterranean dishes are available for lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Light bites and drinks are dished up by the pool. The spa has an ancient-Greece theme with marble columns, sculptures and artwork. The facilities include a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam and a gym. There's a children's playground just behind the hotel.
All rooms overlook the sea or the garden and are decorated with giant cream headboards and light walls. Flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi come as standard.
