Close to Nottingham city centre, the SACO apartments have a peaceful location next to the upscale Park Estate, yet within 10 minutes you can be flexing your credit card in the many shops, bars and restaurants of town.
The apartments are a 7-minute walk from Nottingham Castle, a 9-minute walk from the historic Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem pub (reputedly the oldest inn in England, dating back to 1189) and a 13-minute walk from Nottingham Contemporary art gallery. Head to the Lace Market area for a selection of bars and restaurants, or indulge in some retail therapy in the Broadmarsh and Victoria shopping centres.
For a spot of history, the City of Caves tour allows you to explore the hidden subterranean passageways under the city centre via a World War II air-raid shelter, a medieval underground tannery, a pub cellar and a Victorian slum dwelling. Or take an audio tour through the Galleries of Justice, offering a spooky stroll back in time through centuries of British crime and punishment.
Wollaton Hall, built in 1588, is less than three miles away. This historic hall sits in 200 hectares of grounds roamed by fallow and red deer, with extravagant rooms from the Tudor, Regency and Victorian periods, a natural history museum and an industrial museum to explore. Alternatively, head to Sherwood Forest to see the legendary home of Robin Hood -- it’s just under an hour away by car.
The selection of simple, modern 1- and 2-bedroom apartments are designed to feel like a home from home, with full kitchens and washer/dryers, as well as flat-screen TVs, iPod docks and free Wi-Fi. All apartments come with king-sized beds, a shower or a bath with overhead shower and an open plan living/dining area. Plus, you’ll get a free breakfast pack on arrival, containing cereal, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some treats from a local bakery.
