Hello, I'm filling in this survey on behalf of my son, his wife and 4 month old little boy. I bought this 'breakaway' for them as an early Xmas present. As the chef couldn't make it to the hotel - due to the horrific weather in Cumbria, the whole day of Wednesday 22nd November - the staff kindly brought them a free bottle of wine, cutlery, plates and glasses to their cottage style room, separated from the main hotel; as a meal replacement. My son ordered in a Chinese takeaway from the town and they thoroughly enjoyed being pampered by the hotel team.

As I didn't stay, I can only tell you that as it was a gift break and I was worried that the weather would 'dampen' their treat, I emailed the hotel yesterday 23rd November; thanking them for making their stay special. The hotel Manager replied stating that they were happy to oblige and we'd be welcome to stay in the future. The hotel is ideally situated in Bowness as it's very near Windermere and the cruises. It's also in a quiet location but not far from a wide range of eateries and all the tourist shops and Beatrix Potter exhibitions. Many, many Japanese and other far eastern people make a pilgrimage to discover where Beatrix wrote her childrens' books as these are used to help Asian schoolchildren to learn the English language at a young age.
