The Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond is situated in the quaint Victorian town of St. Michaels in Maryland. Since the 19th century, the Inn has been a well-kept secret tucked away on the Chesapeake Bay. Called "a plush waterside resort" by The New York Times, the Inn is ideal for couples who want to disconnect and reconnect.

St. Michaels is about a 90-minute drive from Baltimore and Washington, D.C,. and a two hours drive from Philadelphia. The nearest airport (BWI) is also about a 90-minute drive, giving the hotel and the area a secluded vibe.

Rated the number one "Best Romantic Inn" by readers of USA Today, the Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond looks like the set of a romantic comedy. In fact, in 2005 the hotel was one of the filming locations for the popular romantic comedy "Wedding Crashers." As guests make their way to the entrance of the hotel, they're greeted by a long brick driveway with lush trees on either side, giving off an immediate sense of quiet and privacy. Valet parking and self-parking are complimentary, as is docking your boat at the Inn's port.

The interior of the inn is "like a scene out of a Ralph Lauren catalogue" (U.S. News Travel), posh bedding, bold patterns, eye-catching accents and a subtle but ever-present nautical theme. Each room is tastefully decorated in warm sea tones, elegant wooden furniture and framed nautical artwork to complete the space. No two guest rooms are the same.

A full service spa, infinity pool, sailing and boating activities, fishing and boat-building classes are some of the activities available at the Inn seasonally. The permanently cerulean water of the infinity-edge pool is enclosed by a brick-walled garden to create an intimate and relaxing oasis. Guests are encouraged to sit by the pool or book an outdoor massage where they can gaze at the mesmerizing expanse. Guests can also lounge by the Miles River and watch the boats or crimson sunsets.

Enjoyed Most: The service and attitude from the entire staff was fantastic from the housekeepers to the staff in the "Stars" restaurant to the reception employees. I am disabled and use a cane and they listened to my requests and delivered on every level. Thank you so much for making what could have been a difficult visit extremely enjoyable.

Enjoyed Most: I loved everything about this trip! The Inn is beautiful inside and out. The room was lovely and comfortable. We had a private balcony with a great water view. Sat under the stars by the fire pit sipping wine and looking at the lights of the harbor. Rode the complimentary bikes all over the quaint town of St. Michaels. Could have stayed another few days.

Other Comments: We had a lovely time. Once we arrived we were delighted to hear we were receiving an upgrade. The entire staff was pleasant and very accommodating. Our room had a lovely view, was spacious, and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was dinner. We had told our friends who accompanied us that we had an excellent dinner experience at our last visit (no overnight stay) for our July anniversary, and this time was the same, the dinner was delightful as well as the restaurant staff.

Other Comments: Loved the stay. Food was good but food service slow. Staff was very friendly. Sailboat ride on the Chesepeake was fun. Older rooms are nice but the newer rooms are probably nicer.
