Overview

Featuring a history that dates back to the 1920s, a classic Art Deco exterior and Mediterranean-style pool, the AAA 4-Diamond Chase Park Plaza "sets the bar for Midwestern luxury" (Gayot.com). Its past guest list is rich with U.S. presidents and celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope.

Visitors can stay in a classic guest room with king or queen beds, a larger suite with a dining area, or an Extended Stay apartment for more long-term luxury. Some rooms feature balconies overlooking the pool or with a view of the St. Louis skyline. Pillowtop beds are fitted with all-cotton sheets, and bathrooms feature marble fixtures. Club level guests receive complimentary breakfast in the morning as well as drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, a nice touch forgotten about by most modern hotels.

The Chase Park Plaza isn't just a destination for overnight guests. The Tenderloin Room, a fine-dining landmark for decades, offers up a classic steakhouse experience from the jumbo shrimp cocktail starter to the signature dish of the house, pepperloin a la tenderloin. The hotel's newest restaurant, The Preston, recently reopened after a full renovation; St. Louis Magazine says the team in the kitchen is "one of the most underrated in the city."

There's an Aveda Salon & Spa on property for relaxing massages, facial treatments or hair and nail services, an 18,000-square-foot wellness center with yoga sessions and fitness classes, and even a five-screen movie theater just steps from the hotel's lobby.

We have concerns that we had something(a $40.00 Yeti tumbler stolen from our car by the Valet. We were only there one night and the Yeti was sitting in the cup holder, when we picked up our car the next morning the Yeti was missing.

It's near a major hospital and there were sirens and ambulances all night long...police vehicles too. Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in in years [if you could call it sleep]

Your offer included early check in...which they would not accommodate, I thought it included Parking. There was no room service menu on the room when we got there. No king or Queen size bed...just a regular size [I'm 6'4"]. No couch...Dead bugs and dirt in the window sills. Room was not cleaned sufficiently from the previous guest..a used bottle of female lube was in a drawer.

Obviously we didn't pay full price, but the decor in our room wasn't up to what I thought The Chase was about. There were holes in the window sheers, the headboard 'leather' had holes in it and the window treatment box had missing material on the corners.

I booked the room for my son in law and daughter for the night preceding and the night of their wedding. The bathroom of the assigned room had an odor upon check in. They were graciously upgraded to another room. But upon returning to the room for night two, post wedding, the bed hadn't been made or bathroom tidied up. Not exactly a world class experience!
