The Arbor City Hotel is a modern property in London's historic East End. The hotel was fully renovated in 2015, when the bedrooms, public spaces and even the façade were given a complete upgrade.

The hotel is in Whitechapel -- once the haunt of Jack the Ripper, and where you'll now find the curry houses, bagel shops and nightlife of Brick Lane. It is not a typical sightseeing area, but there's plenty to do locally. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Spitalfields Market, and three minutes from the Whitechapel Gallery -- a "ground-breaking gallery" known for its "edgy" contemporary art exhibitions (Lonely Planet). Aldgate East Tube station is a short stroll away, with connections to the West End in 15 minutes via the District line. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street train stations.

The Lane Restaurant serves traditional British fare, such as fish and chips, and stays open until 2am. There's also a cocktail bar and a private screening room.

The 115 bedrooms have been fully refurbished, and have bright, modern décor and free Wi-Fi. Superior Rooms are larger than the standard Club Rooms.

Enjoyed Most: We had a good experience staying here just for one evening on a travel zoo deal. Fantastic hotel and staff.we had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were great. The only thing was the location. A bit out of the way from Central London and facing a derelict site. If you book a room the higher the floor the better as noise from the street below may be an issue for some.

Enjoyed Most: The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, plus professional. You got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. We had an excellent buffet breakfast with plenty of choices and tea/coffee served to your table, plus replenished if wanted.
Other Comments: The room was spotlessly clean, with excellent facilities with all you needed for an overnight or weekend stay. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definately return when visiting London again. Also the hotel was conveniently placed close to a tube station which made it easy to travel around.

Enjoyed Most: Top floor room with good view of the city, free glass of prosecco on arrival. Very nice bathroom.

Other Comments: Every member of staff we had contact with was polite, efficient and professional. Without exception the level of customer service was faultless during our one night stay. They willingly stored our luggage both before check in and after checkout. Although the location was very convenient for exploring the East End, being literally two minutes from Aldgate East provided very easy access to the tube and many buses. The immediate neighbourhood leave a bit to be desired, but the huge demolition site on the opposite side of the road will surly become a tidy new build in the near future.
