Encompassing two historic buildings in the heart of Charleston, the Andrew Pinckney Inn was recently restored after welcoming travelers to the charming city for one and a half centuries. On the corner of Pinckney and Church streets, the distinctive canary exterior opens to a three-story atrium lobby filled with exotic plants and West Indies style, conveying a Caribbean vibe in South Carolina.
Charleston’s mild year-round climate allows for plenty of time outdoors. Enjoy the daily complimentary breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Also the site of nightly wine receptions, the patio boasts views of the nearby church steeples and ships in the harbor beyond. Walk along the timeworn cobblestone streets to the open-air City Market, King Street’s premier shopping and dining, and the landmark homes of Rainbow Row, all just blocks from the inn.
Rooms are elegant but casual, washed in a calming moss green and furnished with rich chocolate wood and leather. Queen Guestrooms are located in the Church Street Building with views of the atrium, while Traditional Guestrooms include two double beds or one king bed and look out at Pinckney Street or Church Street. All rooms include Wi-Fi, access to a nearby fitness center and valet parking.
A perfect specimen of Southern hospitality, the concierge arranges horse-drawn carriage rides, ghost tours, museum admissions and dining reservations. Many historic tours use the property as a pick-up location, simplifying sightseeing for those staying on site.
