Tucked between the Russian River Valley and Sonoma is the community of Santa Rosa -- home to Fountaingrove Inn, Hotel & Conference Center. Guests can easily access hundreds of wineries in the area and sip Champagne at the on-site bar.

After partaking in a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, a muffin and coffee, dip into the outdoor heated lap pool. The accompanying sundeck showcases views of the area and a whirlpool spa is ideal for chilly winter evenings.

Spend the day wine tasting then cozy up in a guest room with Wi-Fi access, pillow-top mattresses and granite or stone bathrooms.

Take a trip to downtown Santa Rosa and visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Schulz is the creator of the beloved Peanuts comic strip. The museum bearing his name features drawings, archives and a personal collection of memorabilia. Hop back in the car for a 55-minute drive to the alluring Sonoma coastline with its jagged cliffs and bevy of wildlife.

Enjoyed Most: The wine tasting and happy hour at the restaurant

Enjoyed Most: Centrally located. Didn't hear freeway noise. LOVED THE BED AND PILLOWS!! The breakfast buffet was perfect. Would stay again.

Enjoyed Most: The food at their restaurant was excellent
Other Comments: They had no elevators in one of their two buildings, and on top of that, no parking near the enterance. No help wS offered to us in terms of a bell boy. We assumed that because of the photo that advertises the hotel that it was located in the country near vineyards when it was actually by a main road in an urban area of Santa Rosa. In our room there was no luggage rack, no hair dryer, and only two sets of towels when most nicer hotels offer at least three for a double room.

Enjoyed Most: Great price, especially for all the extras - upgraded room, nice breakfast, and wine tasting passes.
Other Comments: Desk staff extremely helpful in helping explain all the wine regions nearby and helping us select wineries.

Enjoyed Most: Great service. And the bonus upgrades were amazing

Enjoyed Most: Easy access to wineries in the northern Sonoma/Healdsberg area. The package included many more than the promised three 2-for-1 and complimentary tasting vouchers. The bottle of wine we received at check in was from Geyser Peak, which is not a low end wine.
Other Comments: We were upgraded to a Jr. King suite on arrival, which was large but had some strange features, such as the closet was in the very front of the suite and the bed/bath are in the rear, so not very convenient. Furniture in our room was rather old and ragged, but the bathroom was clean and the linens were comfortable. The hotel has no elevators, but the parking lots slope so you can park on the same level as the second floor. However, if you are disabled and on the second floor, you'd have to walk out of your way to get to the restaurant and lobby. The package also included a buffet breakfast, which was good (eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage cereals and fruit) but not much more extensive than what you might find at a Hampton Inn. It is served in the main dining area and there are servers to deliver coffee/tea, which is the main distinction. Overall, this was a very pleasant place to stay.

Enjoyed Most: Our room upgrade to the Junior Suite was very nice. The room was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable.
Other Comments: We enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much!

Enjoyed Most: Pool, location and friendly staff
Other Comments: Breakfast buffet was just ok - also pretty noisy from highway. The ac in our room was broken but quickly resolved for our second night moved to another room. The pool was great and there was an attendant that really made us feel welcome and offered us great assistance, top guest service

Enjoyed Most: Cozy and comfortable environment with wine tastings and reasonable travelzoo deal
HJ Oct 13, 2015 East Palo Alto, CA, United States
Enjoyed Most: Lobby was nice and the reception people were friendly and helpful.
Other Comments: Hotel was a bit old. It's in bad need of a renovation. It felt more like a roadside motel.
