Overview

The pulse of San Francisco can be felt across the city, and one of the most recognizable is Union Square -- known for high-end shopping, dining and Union Square Park. The Italian-inspired Villa Florence sits less than a five-minute walk away, and is up Powell Street from Westfield San Francisco Centre.

When you aren't busy shopping, step right outside the hotel to catch a historic cable car on Powell Street and ride it along the line to area attractions like Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. A town car is also available in the morning hours (first come, first served basis) to take guests within a two-mile radius of the hotel.

High ceilings and an ornate chandelier in the lobby give off an elegant vibe. Guests can sip a favorite wine at Bar Norcini, then head to northern Italy-inspired restaurant for dinner. Kuleto's is known for signature dishes like grilled radicchio wrapped in pancetta and saffron risotto with scallops and shrimp.

Drawing from the high fashion inspiration of Florence, the guestrooms received a chic renovation in 2015.

From the press:

The room was nice and they did upgrade our room after hearing about the parking issue. The fire alarm worked.

We had to circle the hotel block for an hour to be able to park in the valet area. There are only to parking spots to pull into and they were always full. At no fault of the hotel someone pulled the fire alarm and we had to evacuate the building during the night making for very little sleep before a 6a.m. surgery.

Only one elevator was working and it was extremely slow. The wi-fi wasn't working so I wasn't able to do the work I needed. The beds were ok... not all that comfortable. Pillows were small. Looked like there was mold on the bathroom ceiling.

Great location, clean rooms, spacious room.

When we checked in we realized our room didn't have a dedicated desk area and the front desk employee - Kelvin - immediately found a room that did have one.

Great Location in the heart of the city. I had business at the convention Center which is walking distance from Union Square. Hotel Staff was mostly courteous, pleasant, and professional. Concierge Mgr. texted me during my stay to see if all was well. Clean, Quiet Room.

A few negs: i) Some of the amenities were over-priced. Par for the course in San Francisco, I understand. Parking $60.00/Night (ouch); Bottled Water @ $15.00 ii) Window pane in bathroom didn't close completely causing a small draft. iii) insufficient number of ac power outlets in room

A nice boutique hotel. We have enjoyed many nice stays here. Excellent location.

Usually Travelzoo let's you know the total price of a booking. This room cost more that an additional 25% for ADDITIONAL taxes and fees, on top of the listed taxes and fees on the deal. Disappointing. Also, a maid walked into our room unannounced. That could have been particularly embarrassing. The front desk seemed unaffected by the incident. I've always had a good experience with this hotel. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times.

Great location within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and Market Street mall. Staff was very nice and professional. Parking is not on-site and very expensive ($59.00 /night )

small rooms and smaller bathrooms.

Clean; convenient location. Unfortunately they apparently give their tiniest rooms to guests staying with discounted rooms (as we did via TravelZoo). It was literally the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in.
