Haselbury Mill is a cosy country hotel in rural Somerset. The converted Georgian mill and surrounding stone cottages overlook a lake, and are in 14 acres of landscaped grounds.

The property is close to the Dorset border and is 10 minutes' drive from Crewkerne, a pretty market town that dates back to Saxon times. The area is popular with walkers -- Bincombe Beeches Nature Reserve is a short drive away and the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a little under half an hour from the hotel. It is a 35-minute drive from Glastonbury, Lyme Regis and West Bay beach, which is where the TV series "Broadchurch" was filmed. The journey to Yeovil market town takes 20 minutes by car.

The hotel's Lakeside Restaurant serves seasonal food from local suppliers. The bar is open to visitors, and boasts flagstone floors and oak-panelled walls. Homemade pizzas and pies are available here from 6pm on Friday and Saturday.

There are 21 individually decorated bedrooms, all with free Wi-Fi. Standard Rooms are in the main house and have showers rather than baths. The larger Classic Rooms are split between the main house and the Lakeside building. Top of the range are the Superior Rooms in the coach house, which are larger still and more modern in style.

Enjoyed Most: Staff friendly, food was good however nothing else in the area to go to unless you drive. So they have the advantage of you having to eat and drink on site.
Other Comments: Room was clean, but very small. We did travel with our dog so I suspect the dog friendly rooms are always on the small side and you don't get the best rooms

Enjoyed Most: Quirky environment fabulous food and such friendly staff. Definetly recommend it. Lovely showers and fluffy towels.
Other Comments: We were in the Firs but it has a few issues that need tweeking especially re sound proofing as kept awake by being able to hear nextdoor in graphic detail including when they used the bathroom especially flushing the loo which made the most loud noise aa it flushed and refilled and the shower. We felt we were in their bathroom with them! The lovely Hailey moved us to Tree tops and had a great nights sleep.
