Overview

From its prime location in Fisherman’s Wharf, The Tuscan Fisherman's Wharf serves as a great jumping off point for visitors in town for work or for pleasure. A cable car stop, Alcatraz Island, Pier 39 and Chinatown are within a half mile of the waterfront hotel while attractions like the San Francisco Zoo, Museum of Modern Art and Golden Gate Bridge are less than 10 minutes away by car.

Inspired by a Tuscan villa, the inn is decorated with rich fabrics, carved wood and warm colors in the lobby and guest rooms. Mornings begin with complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate waiting in the lobby and on weekdays, guests can hitch a ride to the Financial District with the hotel’s free car service. While there is no gym on site, guests get free access to the adjacent 24-hour fitness center.

Rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, honor bars, iPod docks, and pets are welcomed at no extra charge. Standard amenities include flat-screen televisions with in-room movies and Nintendos, refrigerators and work stations. Adjoining rooms are available and some accommodations feature sofa beds, allowing families and groups to spread out in comfort.

Pescatore, the on-site Italian restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is available daily and late night on weekends -- perfect for those craving midnight pizza. The trattoria also offers a free evening happy hour for guests.

Tanya, bar tender in the restaurant was so funny and made us feel so welcome. We wouldn't have come back to the bar there had she not been there our first night. I really liked the location to everything as well.

The check in was a disaster. First off the front desk agent was very rude and was not welcoming what so ever. The valet also did not greet me appropriately and assuring me the car I had would be well taken care of. The cost to park here was horrendous, and had I found another option (that had in and out privileges) I would not have parked at the hotel. The rooms were very small, and the way the bathroom is configured it is so hard to walk around if one door is open. They have mirrors on the back wall to give the illusion the room is bigger, but the bed takes up most of the space and you feel like a sardine. The food and drinks in the onsite restaurant were overpriced and nothing special that couldn't be found elsewhere for a better price. The toilet in my room broke twice, so that shows me the first time they came to fix it they didn't really fix anything. While I was expecting minor renovations to the hotel, I was not faced with that when we got there. There was constantly during peak hours a large truck parked outside the hotel, blocking any view you have of oncoming traffic. I was always so nervous to leave that place in fear of Having an accident. And the noise from the upper floors was unbelieveably loud. For it being "soft" renovations, it sure didn't feel that way. Also during check out, the hotel did not at first honor my deal I got through Travelzoo and again we're very rude and condescending to the whole matter. Overall I did not like this hotel. I would not come back and would instead look at the many other hotels in the area that I am sure are much better then this one. Just the attitude of the staff and the small rooms really threw me off.
