Families and groups with fussy travelers can feel at ease at the Royal Sands Cancun. This resort has got you covered when it comes to finicky guests. Every room and suite in the hotel has a fully equipped kitchen, and there’s a lobby market to stock your fridge. Have breakfast in bed just the way you like it. Or, stay in pajamas and caffeinate while the little ones munch on cereal and fresh fruit.
Consider upgrading to an oceanfront room where you and the family can watch the waves roll in and out from the comfort of your furnished balcony. If the sight of other guests grabbing up the palapa-shaded beach chairs has you in a rush to get your own sandy slice of paradise, it’s best to get out there early. If snail’s pace is more your group’s style, there’s plenty of room by one of the three pools when you feel like getting there.
The hotel’s rectangular main pool has a lap pool jutting into it. From an aerial view it looks like an ice cream bar on a stick. Swim enthusiasts can get their laps in while the rest of the family splashes nearby. The main pool has a beachfront entry so younger ones can practice their paddle.
If your family needs a break from the sun, there’s a kids club and an arcade and a playground for the wee ones. Grass tennis courts and a fitness center are also on-hand.
If you choose to do the opposite of exercise, the hotel’s swank spa offers fish pedicures where a special breed of small fish exfoliate your feet by nibbling away at the dead skin. It’s worth it just to tell your friends back home. Or just opt for a massage instead if you’re feeling too squeamish.
