Tucked between coastal canyons off the Pacific Coast Highway, the Ranch at Laguna Beach is its own retreat located in the heart of Laguna Beach. The 5-star resort treats guests to a luxurious SoCal experience with "postcard-worthy ocean views" (National Geographic).

The oasis is a mix of rooms, suites and cottages scattered around the picturesque 87-acre property. The private accommodations make it the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a family weekend. Each room is decorated with elegant coastal ranch decor and features a private outdoor furnished patio or balcony to take in scenic canyon or creek views.

There is no shortage of fun at the hotel with plenty of activities for everyone. Golf enthusiasts can swing clubs at the naturally lush nine-hole golf course. Guests can relax at the pool or take a two-minute ride on the complimentary shuttle to Aliso Beach, a family-friendly spot with a playground and bonfire pits. For more adventurous activities, guests can take advantage of the SoCal sunshine and go kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding or hiking.

Harvest Restaurant specializes in American and California comfort style cuisine, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can also enjoy craft cocktails, hand-selected wines and local brews at the bar. Many ingredients are grown in the property's half-acre garden, and handcrafted food and drink is the main focus. Ben's Pantry offers coffee with freshly baked pastries and artisan-style sandwiches and snacks, as well as a full bar.

Beautiful property and great on site restaurants, Harvest, and cool beach side dining at the Lost Cafe and they provide umbrellas and chairs for guests. The walls are a little thin, but it wasn't a problem. The attention to detail in the room and great shower / bathroom made our stay super comfortable. Parking was easy and the location of the resort was perfect - only a quick 5 minute drive to South Laguna cafes and breakfast spots and less than 10 minutes to Main Beach and downtown Laguna.

Menus limited. Some items not proactive, like telling us about the bag with masks and sanitizer at check in or fruit plates available for breakfast. But every staff member was excellent in customer service and very, very nice. The only issue with rooms were that they were not very sound proof.

Exceptionally beautiful and well-kept resort. Really enjoyed the serene environment, food, service, and rooms. Beds were a bit more firm than my liking but this was made up for by the heavenly shower in our room. Didn't get to try to pool due to the cooling weather, but really enjoyed being walking distance to a gorgeous beach and beautiful parks and trails nearby.

While *most* resort guests adhered to the CA statewide order to wear masks while in public, there were a considerable amount of visitors (unsure whether resort guests or the general public) that did not consistently wear masks while on the premise. I alerted resort staff to this. While there are signs saying to wear masks, this was not openly enforced by resort staff. This not only made me uncomfortable, but was a core reason I chose to stay at this resort as I thought they'd be adhering to protocols to keep guests and staff safe and socially distanced. Would recommend that the staff do more to enforce this for everyone on premise, else if you are visiting be prepared to see folks not adhering to this 100%.

Wonderful Hotel, but very much geared toward golfers with little else to do. Beds were very comfortable.

On a positive note, we absolutely appreciated our server, Amy at the Harvest restaurant. She was outstanding. Many thanks to her for making our anniversary dinner special. Lastly, the staff at the golf course were very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.

1. Our travelzoo promotion included a bottle of wine to be provided by the resort. We were told at check-in a bottle would be delivered and it never showed. Upon checkout we mentioned it had been overlooked so they could be aware that the employee who assisted us did not follow through. The employee checking us out was rude and non apologetic. She said she'd give it to us to take with us if we wanted it. That defeated the purpose. Another disappointment was the lack of parking. There are very few parking spots and the valet parking service area is confusing and unorganized. Lastly, the walls of the rooms are not adequately sound proof. We could hear the adjoining guests television late into the night and conversation too.

Because it’s nestled between the hills, there is no cell phone signal

We stayed 3 nights and No tee times were available. Also, parking near our room was scarce, had to circle around several time only to leave the car with the valet.

The Ranch feels like a wonderful, secluded, quiet getaway In the middle of South Laguna. There are so many options here; if you need a quiet, serene property to chill out, the Ranch is perfect. If you want to drive into the Forest Ave area for a little more action, it’s close by. We used a travelzoo deal and would definitely come back. Meals were delicious and there is music every day from 4-8pm at the outdoor patio area overlooking the golf course. If you are into golf, there’s a nine whole course that meanders back into the canyon. The property is beautifully maintained and the staff is warm and friendly. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is your eden

Cell service is non-existent but WiFi was included so no worries. Also on premises: pool, spa, volleyball and bocce ball, easy path to Aliso Creek beach and the Valido hiking trail.
