Why We Love This Hotel

- Solarium with indoor pool and whirlpool
- Hotel provides a shuttle to and from Greater Moncton International Airport
- Shediac is the “Lobster Capital of the World” and hosts an annual festival
Ever since Shediac, the “Lobster Capital of the World,” started welcoming passengers of the new train and ferry service to town, the site of Hotel Shediac has served as accommodations for visitors. The original inn opened in 1860 and hosted heads of state, celebrities and even European royalty before the Depression took its toll on the local economy. After the landmark building was demolished at the turn of the 21st century, the new hotel rose from the ashes with modern amenities to better-suit today’s travellers.
Rooms feature flat screen televisions, Keurig coffee machines, fridges, microwaves and work stations with frosted privacy planes. The Executive Floor requires a special key for entry and guests staying there enjoy On-Demand movies on bigger televisions, individual climate control, iPod docking stations and king beds. Most rooms have a private balcony with views of the bay or Rotary Park and some include fireplaces. Studios with kitchens and pull-out sofas are available while the Spa Suite featuring a chromotherapy tub for two to balance the energy flowing within the body. Wi-Fi is complimentary in all rooms.
The hotel includes a solarium with indoor pool and whirlpool as well as a fitness centre. The property is home to Café Bistro, which serves a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning to guests, and St. James’ Gate where local cuisine is on the menu and also available for room service. For late-night cravings or emergency toiletries, the hotel offers a market, open 24 hours a day.
Shediac is a resort town with public and private beaches that fill up during the summer months -- especially July when the town hosts its annual lobster festival.
