Built in the grand style of Ocean City’s Victorian era, the Dunes Manor Hotel updated its guest rooms in 2013, improving on their vintage charm. Each room has a private balcony with an ocean view as well as Starbucks coffee and free Wi-Fi. Those who want to interact with other guests in the morning can drink complimentary coffee on the veranda while looking for dolphins.
Located on 28th Street, the hotel is one block from the boardwalk, which allows guests to take the boardwalk tram to explore the entire area. Those with children may choose to stay in the area to experience the Jolly Roger Amusement Park and Splash Mountain Water Park, which is located roughly two blocks from the hotel.
Although boardwalk dining and entertainment is easily accessible, those who would like to spend more time in the hotel can dine there. There are four restaurants on the property for every type of meal, from fun, light fare at the Zippy Lewis Lounge to an elegant experience at The Victorian Room Restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean.
There are also several daily events that foster a sense of community for guests, including an afternoon tea with cookies and crumpets. Several times a week there is piano entertainment in the lobby thanks to Shirley Toms, who has been part of the Dunes Manor experience for more than 15 years.
Despite the Victorian decoration, the property is equipped with all the modern luxuries one might need, including granite countertops, flat-screen TVs and a variety of room setups. According to past guests, the staff is also incredibly helpful.
