This rustic 10-room retreat in the northeast of Gran Canaria is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and sits at the edge of the Bandama Natural Monument, a protected area famous for its volcanic crater.
It's a 20-minute drive from the island’s capital, Las Palmas. Its oldest quarter, Vegueta dates back to the 15th century and the cobbled streets are home to some of the city's best attractions, including the Santa Ana cathedral, the Atlantico modern art museum and the Canarian museum. After exploring the historic sights, kick back on Las Canteras beach, said to be one of the prettiest urban beaches in Europe for its golden sands and natural offshore lava reef.
The hotel is housed in a building that dates from the 1800s, and the interiors showcase natural stone and wood. The restaurant serves traditional Canarian dishes and many of the ingredients come from the hotel's organic garden. Solar panels heat the outdoor pool, which is open all year and is surrounded by loungers. Families are well catered for with a playground and a shed stocked with games and toys.
Beamed ceilings and exposed brickwork feature in the rooms. The four ground-floor rooms have a terrace and the remaining six first-floor rooms overlook the surrounding countryside. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi.
