Overview

Perched on the Deganwy Quay, near Llandudno, this spa-hotel is "well-placed for a little bit of luxury," says The Daily Telegraph.

The Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the historic town of Conwy, home to the smallest house in Britain, are both less than 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Venue Cymru in Llandudno showcases opera, dramas and West End musicals. Snowdonia National Park is less than 15 minutes' drive away.

The hotel's Marina Restaurant has views of the Conwy Mountains, the Estuary and the UNESCO heritage site of Conwy Castle. This AA-Rosette-awarded restaurant uses local Welsh produce such as Anglesey scallops, fresh salmon from Llandudno and locally farmed beef and lamb. There's also a selection of bottled Welsh ales from the Great Orme Brewery at the bar.

Classic Rooms have courtyard views and Superior Rooms offer views across the marina. Most come with private balconies.

Leisure facilities include a spa, an indoor heated pool, a sauna, a steam room and a gym, all of which are free for guests to use. Wi-Fi is free.

Enjoyed Most: Lovely quality hotel in great location between Conwy and Llandudno. Great coastal walk connects both towns so if you are fit and able you don't have to move the car. Staff in the hotel really helpful and friendly. Really nice atmosphere in bar and restaurant during our stay. We hope to return in the future.
Other Comments: Price of wine was a bit on the expensive side, but we paid it to enjoy the experience. Prosecco is now very popular and hotel had only one choice at £29.50. May be worth getting some additional varieties and having range starting at slightly cheaper amount like £20. We probably would have ordered a couple of bottles at that price but couldn't justify £60 for two at hotel price. This is just a suggestion and not a criticism as I am sure the hotel wants to remain upmarket.

Enjoyed Most: Great location wth lovely views, spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds.

Enjoyed Most: The view is nice.
Other Comments: Contacted the hotel to request a dog friendly room, however there was no note of this on our booking and as a result we weren't allocated a dog friendly room. The hotel was very very load, there was clearly a function going on, with people smoking in the courtyard area directly outside our room. We asked if there were any other rooms available and we were told no, they my were fully booked. We tried to use the spa but there were no appointments for any treatments on the Saturday or Sunday, as a result we weren't allowed in the relaxation rooms. Breakfast was included in the deal but they ran out of practically everything, including sauces. The waiter took an order for toast but it was never brought over. Overall very disappointing.

Enjoyed Most: The views and setting.
Other Comments: There were two big issues for us. The food hygiene rating (which is a legal requirement in Wales)on display in the hotel foyer was marked as a 3 out of 5. I would not expect such a low rating for a four star hotel. When challenged, the receptionist said that problem was caused by not submitting paperwork on time. I have my doubts!! The other issue was the cold temperature in the sauna and Jacuzzi area. We were really looking forward to a relaxing afternoon but because of the severe cold temperature, we walked straight in and then straight out.

Enjoyed Most: Excellent facilities - room, restaurant, spa. Staff very attentive
Other Comments: A mix up with the Spa booking was upsetting as we were unable have the treatments of choice. We were offered an alternative plus issued with a voucher for a treatment and lunch for another day which fortunately we will be able to use
