With a "spectacular rooftop pool" (The New York Times), an adjoining bar and a strong, welcoming team, The Hotel at South Beach is Miami at its best. Sit back and relax in a great location on Collins Street, with the beach just two minutes away and a block from the shops and nightlife on Ocean Drive.
The pool is small but not crowded, with free loungers, stunning views over the ocean and what Frommer's calls the "coolest roof-deck bar in town." There are free yoga classes here on Saturday mornings, and all guests receive complimentary towels, chairs and umbrellas on the hotel's beach, just across the road. Guests also have use of a small gym, which overlooks the pool.
In a previous life, this four-story building was The Tiffany and dates back to Miami’s golden art deco age of 1939. It was refurbished 60 years later by fashion designer Todd Oldham, who added "groovy interiors" (The Telegraph) to 73 fashionable and sound-proofed rooms. Each has thick soundproofed windows, free Wi-Fi, showers with rain showerheads and sea views.
You’ll find a plethora of restaurants and bars on Ocean Drive, but there's also Augello’s restaurant on site, serving Italian food seven days a week and there’s a well-stocked wine cellar with 1000 vintages. Don’t miss a drink at the Spire on the rooftop -- the views really are unparalleled. Take note: the roof deck closes at 8 p.m., so don't wait until after dinner to enjoy the views.
