Why We Love This Hotel
- Clifftop hotel with views of the Isle of Wight and Needles – “a beautifully tranquil scene” (The Independent)
- AA-Rosette restaurant with more views from the terrace and a popular deli/café next door
- Penthouse suite has a full kitchen, separate lounge and dining area, and a vast private balcony
- Within easy reach of the beach, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight
It has a great location, there’s an AA-Rosette restaurant and the rooms have recently been renovated, but what keeps guests returning to Pebble Beach Hotel are the views overlooking both the beach and the Needles rocks.
You’re certainly well placed for exploring the local area. Just 10 minutes of driving brings you to the New Forest National Park, and Bournemouth is 35 minutes away. Pretty seaside Lymington, 20 minutes’ drive away, is also worth a visit, or you can take the ferry from here to the Isle of Wight. (If you do take the trip, head for the tip of the island for a different view of the distinctive jagged chalk rocks, the Needles -- there’s also a Victorian fort, the Old Battery, to wander around.)
Dinner at the hotel’s AA-Rosette restaurant involves a lot of seafood -- look for king scallops and tiger prawns or monkfish and crab mousseline bouillabaisse -- but there are plenty of other options. In summer, a decked terrace makes the most of those gorgeous views. An à la carte breakfast is served from 10am, but early risers can eat at Petit Pebbles, the hotel’s deli and café next door, which also serves beer from the local microbrewery later in the day.
Rooms are simply decorated and have free WiFi and air-conditioning -- some have sea views. Upgrade to the impressive Penthouse Suite for a super-king-size bed, fully fitted kitchen, separate lounge and dining area, and a large private balcony with more of those views.
