Tucked away in the shade of lush greenery, just south of Pine Mountain Village, Callaway Gardens is renowned as "one of the most beautiful spots in the South" (Frommer's). Featuring the largest man-made inland beach in the world, the resort is a family-friendly destination with water sports, hiking trails, biking trails, fishing, golf and tennis.

Sun-soaked rooms are inviting with hints of rustic touches. The Mountain Creek Inn rooms, for instance, have solid wood headboards. Southern Pine Cottages are ideal for families or big groups, with a separate living area and screened-in porches.

There are eight different dining options on the grounds and five great spots for picnics. Be sure to engage the staff, they're well informed on the best spots for bird watching, fishing, bike trails and the most scenic picnic areas.

The garden view of the room was pretty nice, albeit not as nice as we had hoped
Other Comments
The accommodations were not very nice; food was barely okay; the gardens have become much more commercialized in the past few years; not very easy to rent bikes or navigate through the park

The beauty of the surroundings in the spring.

We arrived early and they told us they would call us when the room was ready. That didn't happen. We got settled into our room and realized it wasn't a garden-view room as we paid for. Moved to a new room. Everything was fine after that. The tree-top adventure was scary and too challenging for older people and we had to quit midway through and we are pretty active people. The gardens were lovely and very well maintained.

Beautiful setting and very nice people working at the resort.... The breakfasts were great and would eat there again.
Other Comments
The rooms were very cramped. Heater was VERY loud and came on every 15 min during the night. Outside lights would shine in around the curtains and room wasn't dark. Both these things made it very difficult to sleep at night. We would get different accomdation if we visited again.

callaway gardens is beautiful, especially this time of year!
Other Comments
when we booked thru u, nowhere did it state that we had to call Callaway reservations to book a spot on the 'treetop adventure'. When we arrived it was fully booked and initially the response was 'too bad'. Only when a group of people formed with the same issues did management add another tour to the day. also, the hotel bath was atrocious, chipped to a point where I cut foot on it and no fridge!
