The Stonehouse Court Hotel, a 17th-century manor house, is set within six acres of Gloucestershire countryside and overlooks the Stroud Valley. The hotel is close to many of the area's well-known attractions, such as the Cotswold Way and the medieval city of Gloucester.

The hotel is on the edge of the heart of the Cotswolds, an area that “represents the quintessence of rural England, as immortalised in countless books, paintings, and films” (Fodor's). Stroud, a “bohemian enclave known for its fair-trade shops, delis and independent stores” (Lonely Planet) is a 10-minute drive from the hotel, and Gloucester, famed for its 11th-century cathedral, is a 20-minute drive away. The Cotswold Way, which stretches 100 miles, runs through Stroud.

Facilities at the Stonehouse Court Hotel include a terrace, a bar, a gym and conference rooms, all of which are located in the main manor house. The restaurant, Court Brasserie, serves fresh, contemporary British food - and a steak night is held every Wednesday evening.

Guests can choose from Classic and Superior double rooms, Manor House rooms and a luxurious 4-poster room. All rooms are uniquely designed, and Manor House rooms still have original features. Wi-Fi is free.

The hotel staff were very impressive and couldn't have done more for us. That includes reception, restaurant, cleaners et al. We were able to upgrade on the 2nd night when a superior room became available. Hotel was lovely. We had a room in the new part. The grounds are beautiful and well kept with access to the canal/tow path. There were weddings on bothdays-no issue to us at all. Cream tea was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel ,food very good. The hotel rooms are a bit tired and in need of a paint and some tlc. However it was clean and had everything we needed.

Breakfast at the hotel was good, with a variety of food to choose from. Also, the cream team was nice and was waiting for us after we had checked in. But it would have been nice to have a bit of music on in the main lobby / reception area, as there was no atmosphere.
Other Comments
The rooms were disappointing, due to the fact that it was the furthest away and there were various hallways and stairs to climb to get there. The main building is lovely but the majority of bedrooms are located in an eye sore, dated, brick built building added onto the side of the original building. Furthermore, the location of the hotel was disappointing, as there are no nearby pubs or amenities within walking distance and a lack of picturesque countryside like you'd expect in the Cotswolds.
