The Priest House Hotel in Derbyshire is a historic hotel in a picturesque riverside setting. The main hotel building is a converted Norman mill tower dating back to the 11th century -- some of the rooms in cottages were built in the 17th century and have original fireplaces. The country-house hotel retains plenty of period features, including beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls.

Located on the banks of the River Trent, The Priest House Hotel is close to a range of local attractions, including Donington Park Racing Circuit, National Trust property Calke Abbey, the Peak District and the cities of Derby, Leicester and Nottingham. The village of Castle Donington is just over a mile away and, although the castle is no longer standing, the original church remains.

Guests can choose from spacious rooms in the main house or cosy cottage bedrooms in converted cottages just over a small bridge that crosses the River Trent.

Dining options on site range from fine-dining in the recently refurbished Millstream Bar & Terrace, to traditional afternoon teas (with a gentleman's option) and informal brasserie fare.

Enjoyed Most: Food
Other Comments: We found the room was very well appointed but small, the weather was very warm when we were there and as the room has no a/c we had to have the windows open and as it is close to East Midlands airport and the railway it was very difficult to sleep.
