Why We Love This Deal

You'll be hard pressed to find a NYC hotel as steeped in history as The Algonquin. This AAA 4-Diamond property is bringing an exclusive deal to Travelzoo members that saves up to 55% and includes two tour tickets.

Opened in 1902, The Algonquin is perhaps best known for being the birthplace of the famed Prohibition-era group known as The Algonquin Round Table—which counted some of the most esteemed writers, journalists and artists of their time as members. Its stellar location puts guests a block away from Times Square and within walking distance of several Broadway theaters.

Booked 2 nights thru Travelzoo . At check in the hotel only had us down for a one night stay. They corrected the situation when I showed them the booking email was for 2 nights. Thank goodness the room was available.

There is a $40 resort fee in addition to the room charge. They did let us use it as a food & beverage credit.

We arrived early and was upgraded to a suite. We had an overall wonderful experience and it will be our number place to return to for dinner and a show when staying overnight. The location and hotel were perfect. Probably one of the most comfortable bed and pillows I have EVER slept on. Thank you.

My only regret is that I did not use my Marriott membership because I did not realize it was a Marriott hotel. I will be contacting customer service to hopefully credit my stay.

Easy walk from Grand Central Madison. The Algonquin Hotel is steeped in NYC history, especially the Round Table and the people who sat there. Hotel was warm, friendly and welcoming. Would love to go back for another visit.

Front desk staff were unprofessional. Also, found out I could have booked this trip without Travelzoo for a cheaper price. They also have a $30 per day fee that covers bottled water and use of the gym but you get it back in food credits if you eat at their restaurant which we didnt.

Hotel was ok. However, we were supposed to receive a tour of the city, a $75 dollar value, but the hotel said they don't offer it anymore and they offered nothing in it's place. In addition, they tacked on a $68 dollar charge against the credit card, which had to be used for food in their restaurant.
Other Comments
I think the hotel should have offered something in return for deleting the tour of the city. Very expensive hotel with several ways to take more money from us.
