Would easily go again. Location was perfect. The hotel more than accommodated for my concerns ( placed out two rooms next to one another.) staff was professional and very attentive to our granddaughter’s needs. The receptionist (whose name I don’t recall) , made extra effort to call out the hotel cat “Hamlet”. Even gave her a stuffed replica and a photograph!! “Manny”, at the door was so friendly and fun and helpful. 5 stars!

My disappointment was more with Travelzoo (booking agent) than with The Algonquin. Travelzoo advertises perks for the hotel than don’t exist (ie. Night bus tour @$70/pp value). The Algonquin could not engage with info until 5 days prior to arrival per booking agreement with Travelzoo. Too late to learn that the “come on” was not real. To their credit, The Algonquin removed the resort fee. ( A bit of a wash since a part of the fee was a $30 bar/food credit which we used with no credit!)

Hotel was ok. However, we were supposed to receive a tour of the city, a $75 dollar value, but the hotel said they don't offer it anymore and they offered nothing in it's place. In addition, they tacked on a $68 dollar charge against the credit card, which had to be used for food in their restaurant.

I think the hotel should have offered something in return for deleting the tour of the city. Very expensive hotel with several ways to take more money from us.

The front door staff was especially exceptional. One in particular, Jimmy Figueroa, was noteworthy. The Hotel was unable to honor the complimentary hop on hop off tickets, however, but they did waive the $30 per day resort fee, but then of course, no meal credit was included.

Charming historical hotel with experienced, happy staff. Great bar with friendly staff and excellent cocktails. Room was tiny but had everything we needed. They do charge a “resort fee” which you can use for food and drink there but it did seem like just a way to make one spend money on site. Coffee and water always available. Coffee is very good but slow as only one machine.

We had a great time, love that they have a house cat and have for a long time. One issue we had was that when we booked we were supposed to have the option of renting bikes or a night hop on hop off tour. They said that wasn’t available and we weren’t given any other options. We thought there should have been something else of$75 value that we never received. We were look g forward to the night hop on hop off bus tour.

Charming hotel in great location convenient to Times Square and theatres and to 5th Ave and shops. Hotel has fascinating history and very attentive helpful staff especially Jennie and Kevin. The room is small but well appointed, coffee dispenser in lobby has many choices including cafe au lait and mocha hot chocolate. We saw Matilda the resident cat and enjoyed reading the history and door markers, the room key has a drawing of the round table, and on Tuesday evening terrific singer in the bar. Lovely stay and would come back
Other Comments
Suggest the hotel make available the "key" to the picture of the round table on the room card listing the names and brief bio of each person, and suggest hotel better publicize the singer on Tuesday evenings, she was a delight! It would be nice to better decorate the round table area to bring in the history!
