Rooms & Rates
Surrounded by the cobblestone streets of Fell's Point, Admiral Fell Inn is a spirited place, to say the least. Considered one of the top haunted hotels in the country, the inn -- which has also served as a theater, boarding house and sailor's YMCA through the decades -- is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Rooms are named after notable Baltimore residents and are uniquely furnished in traditional old-world European style, but updated with flat-panel TVs. Since the building housing the inn is over a century old, all rooms have a slightly different layout, but each of the hotel's 80 rooms and suites has a view of the courtyard, the harbor or Shakespeare Street. Some have Jacuzzi tubs and four-poster beds. Wi-Fi is free, and pets stay for free.
To play up its spooky reputation, the inn hosts a ghost tour for guests Wednesday-Friday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 4-5 p.m. Beginning in the cozy lobby, a tour guide leads guests through the property’s seven buildings, introducing them to visitors who haven’t checked out for centuries. Beer, wine and treats are served afterward at the inn's basement pub.
The tour and reception are covered under the nightly $9.95 resort fee, which also includes in-room bottled water, access to the 54,000-square-foot Maryland Athletic Center, a morning newspaper and shuttle service to the hotel’s sister properties to explore other Baltimore neighborhoods, such as the scenic Inner Harbor.
For dinner and drinks, on-site options include the 8 Ball Meatball (which serves more than just meatballs) and the Points South Latin Kitchen offering Spanish-style small plates. The quaint Tavern at the Admiral pub, which dates back to the 1750s, serves wine, local beers, cocktails and spirits. The surrounding Fell’s Point area has loads of other dining and nightlife options, including The Horse You Came In On Saloon, one of the last places Edgar Allen Poe was seen alive.
