In Helsinki's Siltasaari neighbourhood, a 15-minute stroll from the city centre, Scandic Paasi is a quirky design hotel with colourful interiors.
Part of the Helsinki Congress Centre Paasitorni, the complex is home to four dining options including Meripaviljonki, a floating seafood restaurant and Paasin Kellari, a 1950s-style dining room. The hotel is within walking distance of Helsinki cathedral, Market Square and Hakaniemi Harbour for boat trips across to Korkeasaari Zoo. Esplanadi park and the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art can be reached by tram.
The playful interiors feature bold prints, colourful fabrics and circus-inspired designs. The lobby is decorated with multi-coloured ceiling slats, mirrored surfaces, cowhide sofas and bright blue wingback chairs. Board games and magazines are available in the library and the lobby bar is open until 2am each night. There's a gym with cardio machines and free weights, and Nordic walking sticks and bikes can be rented from reception.
The quirky rooms feature heart-shaped pillows and zebra-print chairs. Some rooms have small kitchens, dining areas and terraces, and all offer free Wi-Fi.
