Vertigo Hotel has a history dating back more than 100 years and is located in the centre of Dijon, the capital of the famous wine-producing region of Burgundy.
"Dijon is one of France's most appealing cities," says Lonely Planet. "Filled with elegant medieval and Renaissance buildings, the lively centre is wonderful for strolling". Dijon is indeed a compact, walkable city, and with two tram lines (running north–south and east–west), all of the city's sights are very accessible. The hotel is adjacent to Jardin Darcy, five minutes' walk from the 14th-century Gothic Cathédrale Saint-Bénigne de Dijon, 10 minutes' walk from both the Musée des Beaux-Arts (with notable works by Titian, Monet and Manet) and the Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne on Place de la Libération.
There’s a French restaurant and a cigar bar, as well as the Embassy Bar which serves a buffet or à la carte breakfast and vintage Burgundy wine, champagne, cocktails and gourmet tapas in the evening. The I Feel Good spa has an indoor pool, a sauna, a fitness centre and a Turkish bath, as well as treatments for a surcharge. Other highlights include a home cinema and free bike rentals.
Cocoon rooms feature Nespresso machines, mini bars, free Wi-Fi, Mac Minis and 40-inch interactive TVs. Upgrade to a Merveilleuse for more space; a Sublime Twin for two double beds and city views; or a Magique Suite for a king-size bed and a separate sofa bed, a separate living room and bedroom and a walk-in wardrobe.
