The 4-star Carlyon Bay Hotel, perched dramatically on the cliffs of St Austell Bay in Cornwall, is set in 250 acres of landscaped gardens, with views of the English Channel. The hotel has an on-site 18-hole golf course, as well as a driving range and two tennis courts.
The property is less than two miles from the Eden Project, which houses a collection of plants from around the globe, as well as the largest indoor rainforest in the world. St Austell town centre is 10 minutes' drive from the hotel and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are approximately 20 minutes' drive. St Austell Brewery, where you can take a tour and visit the brewery shop, is about a 12-minute drive. The South West Coast Path runs by the property.
Dining options include the hotel's fine-dining Bay View Restaurant -- which was awarded an AA Rosette in 2015 -- as well as the Taste Brasserie, the informal Terrace Lounge (where you can enjoy a tea or coffee with sea views), and the relaxed Club House, which is set within the hotel's private golf course. There is an on-site spa with treatment rooms, a fitness suite, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sauna and a steam room, all of which are free for guests to use.
All rooms feature a turndown service every evening, with a chocolate on your pillow, a TV with Sky Sports and free Wi-Fi. Guests also get one round of golf per day plus temporary membership of the clubhouse.
