Prague "charms everyone who visits", says Fodor's, and you can now discover it for yourself while staying at the Mosaic House -- a "cornucopia of designer detail" according to Lonely Planet.
The Mosaic House design hotel is based in the heart of the Nové Město (New Town) quarter, in walking distance of Wenceslas, Charles and Republic Squares. There are two tram stops a 1-2 minute walk away from Mosaic House, with links to the Old Town (which is a 16-minute walk from the hotel), making it an ideal location for sampling some of Prague's beer, which is “the best in Europe” according to Lonely Planet. It is also minutes away from numerous bars and restaurants.
The hotel’s art-deco and funky design details are evident from when you first enter and spot the original 1930s mosaic in the entrance hall. Fully renovated in 2013, the eco-friendly property boasts impressive green technology such as water-efficient rain-dance showers, solar panels and grey-water waste recycling. La Loca, the hotel’s popular in-house music bar and lounge, hosts gigs and events throughout the week, including karaoke and resident DJ nights.
Accommodation ranges from shared hostel-like rooms to private, spacious penthouses, so there should be something to suit everyone’s preference and budget. The top-floor bedrooms and Superior Doubles have spacious balconies and terraces with views right across the city, and include complimentary buffet breakfast, a mini fridge and a Nespresso machine. All of the rooms are soundproofed and feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and iPod docking stations.
