The 4-star Dunstane Hotel in Edinburgh's city centre is made up of two Victorian townhouses facing opposite each other, which together deliver a uniquely Scottish -- or specifically, Orcadian -- experience. Owned by the Orkney Islands-raised Mowat family, this boutique property combines period features with modern décor to provide luxurious accommodation with authentic Scottish touches throughout, including its popular Stroma Lounge whisky bar and Skerries restaurant.

The hotel is In the Haymarket district of Edinburgh, to the west of the city centre, which is easily accessed by a number of bus routes. Haymarket train station is 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, and Edinburgh's main attractions – including the famous Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland -- are all within a 15 minutes' drive, or a half-hour stroll.

The hotel features an on-site whisky bar serving over 70 malt whiskies alongside traditional beers from Orkney and Loch Fyne. Once you've finished your drink, head over to Skerries Restaurant, which takes pride in sourcing local produce from Orkney and Shetland and serving authentic dishes. Guests can soak up the sumptuous furnishings and plush surroundings of the communal Stroma Lounge, or venture into the garden conservatory and patio area. 

The 38 bedrooms  are all individually designed, yet equally luxurious, coming either with 4-poster or king-size beds. Choose from Boutique Double Rooms and Deluxe Double Rooms featuring flat-screen TVs, luxury toiletries and free Wi-Fi. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room for more space and under-floor heating in the bathrooms, which also include Jacuzzis in a few of the Deluxe Rooms. For those looking for more indulgence and space, there are also Luxury Rooms available, which include an extra seating area beside a bay window.
