Cardiff Marriott Hotel is in the heart of the city -- a 2-minute stroll away from Cardiff Central Station, it's next to St. David's Shopping Centre, five minutes' walk from the Motorpoint Arena and less than ten minutes from the Millennium Stadium, home to the Wales national rugby union team.
Located on Mill Lane in The Hayes area, it's a great spot for shopping -- the adjacent St David's centre has a large John Lewis and Debenhams, as well as plenty of restaurants. Weekends in the area are lively, as "a buzz reverberates through the streets as swarms of shoppers hit the Hayes, followed by waves of revellers descending on the capital's thriving pubs, bars and live-music venues", says Lonely Planet.
The hotel is home to Chat's Cafe Bar, which serves British classic dishes and snacks, and Zest restaurant, specialising in Welsh dishes using mainly local produce, seafood and meat. It also has a fitness centre with a large indoor pool with spa bath, a sauna and a gym.
Rooms at the front of the hotel look out onto Mill Lane, which has some lively bars and clubs, so rooms on lower floors can be a little noisy, and rooms on higher floors have a great view over the city at the front, or across the bay at the back. You can also upgrade to a Superior Room, which has two double beds, or a Junior Suite, which has a separate living area.
