Blackpool offers one of the most quintessentially British seaside experiences, and you can stay in the centre of the action at Ibis Styles Hotel. It's opposite the beach and the Grade II-listed North Pier -- the oldest and longest of the town's three piers. Built in the 1860s, it was designed by famed engineer and naval architect Eugenius Birch.
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from The Blackpool Tower and The Winter Gardens entertainment complex, which comprises a theatre, cinema, bars and restaurants. It is a 1-minute walk to the tram stop, which connects to attractions running along the Promenade in either direction -- including the Pleasure Beach theme park, less than two miles away. Blackpool North Train Station is an 8-minute walk away.
The hotel has a funky modern design, with bright, bold colours throughout both the public areas and guestrooms. There's plenty of fun, quirky furniture dotted around -- we especially like Blackpool rock-candy theme.
All rooms have free Wi-Fi and tea- and coffee-making facilities. While it's close to plenty of bars and nightclubs, most rooms are quiet during the night, although they may be a little noisy at weekends. Some rooms at the front of the hotel have views of the beach -- some even look out directly on to North Pier, and will get lots of sunlight during summer.
