Overview

The second-oldest continuously running hotel in America, the AAA 4-Diamond Copley Square Hotel is ideally situated in Boston's Back Bay and designed with modish light fixtures and furnishings, reminiscent of the trendy shops and restaurants nearby.

Well designed with contemporary touches and notably comfortable beds, the guestrooms and baths may be compact but are so "clean and streamlined that you just might overlook the fact that" (Fodor's). With a convenient Back Bay location, the hotel is ideal for dropping off your bags and head out sightseeing, or lingering just a bit to use the free Wi-Fi to plan outings. Daily complimentary perks include bottled water, granola bars and jogging maps for early risers and an evening "Wine Down" reception.

Once frequented by legends such as Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, the hotel's former speakeasy has reopened as the popular nightclub Storyville. The music doesn't overwhelm the rest of the hotel, but can be a scene out front at night. There's also a cocktail bar and a full restaurant with a sporting theme.

The hotel is four blocks from the shopping of Newbury Street and a 10-minute walk to Boston Common and the Freedom Trail. The Boston T orange and green lines are just a five-minute walk from the hotel.

From the press:
  • “The old-meets-new vibe is fun, and the neighborhood couldn't be livelier” -- Fodor's
  • “It’s hard to argue with the hotel’s prime location” -- Oyster.com

The room was very well appointed. We were given an upgrade with a king bed. The location can't be beat! And 5 pm wine I need the lobby is a nice touch!

Very comfortable king bed and quiet room regarding traffic noise (though the ventilation system was noisy). Free wine bar at happy hour.

Excellent service--the woman who checked me in made me a cup of tea, just because I asked abour tea in the morning.

I love the swanky decor, but rooms are a bit small compared to neighboring/ comparable hotels.

The friendly staff and cute boutique vibe was refreshing in comparison to the stuffy conference hotels nearby. They have complementary wine 5-6pm each day and complementary coffee in the morning.
Other Comments
The room service and room amenities could be improved. If you want alcohol, you need to go down to the attached bar downstairs and the dessert options are VERY limited.

Location! (Luke's Lobster House is across the street. That's rough.) Booked on Travelzoon for such a low price we stayed 2 nights for the piece of 1. Lovely bar off the lobby. Historic AND modern. Valets were very friendly and knew the area well.

Sits in a great location to easily walk around back Bay Area or grab a taxi/ uber to another part of the city.
