There were a lot of kids running the halls all evening (up until midnight). Not a huge deal but it was very loud. Also, the renovated showers are annoying more than anything. You have to step in the shower to turn on the water. The water takes 2-3 minutes to get lukewarm, which means you stand there after getting cold water on you waiting for the water to warm. And some idiot designed the glass shower door. There's no handle on the inside, so imagine trying to slide a heavy, wet glass door with your wet hands - good times.

While the room was nice and updated, it was very loud and you could hear conversations from the rooms flanking ours, also hallway chat was loud. The pillows were also incredibly uncomfortable and could use a refresh. All six that we had were flat by the time we woke up. Otherwise, great value.

The location, the cookies.

The pool has a bit too much chlorine. My child drank a little bit of water and got sick for the rest of the trip. My husband who was in the pool with her got smeared with some white stuff from the pool and ruined his shorts. Love cookies and drinks station at lobby. The bathroom door was squeaky so over night when we open and close the door it's really loud and woke the kids up.

The location was perfect. Philadelphia’s city center is very walkable, a traveler’s delight. Even though it’s possible to walk to historic sites, a taxi was surprisingly inexpensive. (But because of government shutdown most sites weren’t open.😬) So, if you want the best of both worlds, the Hilton definitely works. The hotel’s efficiently run. Rooms clean (great cleaning crew). Coffee downstairs in a.m. if you don’t want room coffee maker (which is fine) and cookies in lobby mid afternoon. Hotel undergoing renovation BUT mgt assigns rooms away from renovation areas. So renovation didn’t bother us. All in all, a great visit. Philadelphia remains the City of Brotherly Love!
