A moated 16th-century property, Langshott Manor offers boutique 4-star accommodation in the Surrey countryside. Set in three acres of gardens, the hotel also has a fine-dining restaurant that holds three AA Rosettes.

This Elizabethan country house is just a few minutes' drive from Gatwick Airport, 90 minutes from London and 45 minutes from the picturesque Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The historic market towns of Horley and Horsham are both close by.

Condé Nast Johansens calls Langshott Manor a "slice of Elizabethan splendour" and a "vision of loveliness". You can sample fine dining from a range of tasting menus at the 3-AA-Rosette Mulberry Restaurant or enjoy an afternoon tea beside a log fire in one of the hotel's lounges. In warmer weather, guests can make use of the terrace, which overlooks the rose-filled gardens.

The hotel's 22 bedrooms mix modern furnishings with historic features and all come with Wi-Fi, bathrobes and slippers and lifestyle magazines. Luxury Rooms are more spacious and some feature private garden areas or Victorian bathtubs. Junior Suites all have a key feature such as a private garden, a balcony, a double walk-in shower or a freestanding bathtub.

Enjoyed Most: The exceptional care and interest that the staff take to ensure that all the elements of your time spent with them is of the highest quality. They are genuinely warm and engaging. The Cuisine is a fine dining experience. The menu is small but the absolute attention to detail is to be highly commended. Beautiful, elegant rooms stunningly appointed in lush grounds. The only negative being the arrival of the encroaching housing estate which has unceremoniously arrived on the door step. The noise from the estate is a barbed buzz in the peace and tranquility of the hotel.

Enjoyed Most: Very relaxing hotel and grounds, so peaceful. The food was delicious.
Other Comments: We were unhappy with the room we were given upon arrival - but the lady on reception was very accommodating and showed us another room in the same category and we were so much happier with it. We overlooked the duck pond and the room was much brighter and fresher. She was so flexible, even though they were due to be fully booked that evening. We loved our stay and would recommend for a night away. There's little to do there so 1 night is ample but so relaxing you feel like you've been away several days.
