The BEST WESTERN Grosvenor Hotel is a Georgian building on a residential road, a short walk from Stratford-upon-Avon's main shopping streets, including Henley Street (Shakespeare's birthplace), Bridge Street and High Street, which is lined with black-and-white-timbered Tudor buildings and high-street shops.

Food is served in the Garden Room Restaurant, and drinks and afternoon tea are available in the Lounge Bar. During the summer, guests can sit outside on the terrace. Every Sunday there's a carvery from 12-3pm.

Bedrooms range from standard single, double or twin to family and executive rooms. Wi-Fi is free in all areas of the hotel.

The Avon Ring -- a 4-minute walk away -- is a canal ring that connects Stratford-upon-Avon with Evesham, Tewkesbury and Worcester, where you can walk by the canal through the park down to the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Follow Shakespeare's life stages, starting at his birthplace and childhood home on Henley Street. Discover Tudor courtship at Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Gardens, which is a 30-minute walk from the hotel, and is where Shakespeare courted his future wife. Explore the hay bale maze, see a falconry display or watch the farmer's wife prepare the home-grown food in the farmhouse kitchen at Mary Arden's Farm. It's a short drive outside of Stratford-upon-Avon, and was where Shakespeare's grandparents lived. Finish at Holy Trinity Church, where the Bard was baptised and burried.

Other attractions include Stratford Butterfly Farm, which has the UK's largest collection of tropical butterflies, and Stratford Town Walk, winner of the Tourism Initiative of the Year at the Pride of Stratford Awards 2015.

Warwick, Kenilworth Castle and the Northern Cotswolds are within a 25-minute drive of the hotel.

Superb evening meal. Good value with £10 off but drinks a little expensive. Very close (10 minute walk) to RSC theatre with main shopping street half way between

Room was very hot. Needed window open which meant noisy through night

The breakfast was very good and the location was very handy for the town.

We had a very standard room, no up grade even though the hotel did not seem very busy. There was no iron or ironing board in the room and the toiletries were the most basic we'd ever had in a hotel. There were two hand washes hanging on the walls and that was it. However the beds were clean and comfortable. Didn't use £10 for evening meal as they were quite expensive. We would recommend and use again ourselves if we got it at a special rate.

Great value for money, located close to town. Good buffet breakfast.

We were not impressed with the member of staff who checked us in. She informed us that we had booked room only and we had to produce our confirmation from Travelzoo that we were booked in for B&B. We also had to ask for a room upgrade - she asked whether we were Best Western members and we had to explain that Travelzoo promised a room upgrade if available. All other staff and service great.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great value for money.

Only complaints are: the bar and dining room smelt strongly of paint which made staying in these area uncomfortable and tended to give one a headache. Paid £100 for the evening meal but the food was of poor Quality and greatly over priced. Would recommend the hotel but not to dine in the restaurant. The breakfast was excellent, couldn't fault it.

Breakfast was a shambles. Had to repeat request for coffee and was told that as they were having problems with the toaster, they were concentrating on that not coffee.... Toast eventually arrived but was barely cooked. tables were not cleared meaning guests had to wait and we cleared our own used dishes onto a neighbouring table as we went.
