Overview

With a rich history dating back to 1913, the Hotel Majestic offers 21st century guests a unique glimpse into St. Louis’s past. It is one of the last standing pre-war St. Louis hotels in operation today. A 2007 renovation turned it into a 4-star hotel, yet classic period details from the property’s inception remain.

Revel at the lobby’s baby grand piano and Italian marble floors before checking into spacious, comfortable rooms with four-poster beds and cozy seating areas. Enjoyed Most
at one time this was a grand hotel. Now it is just depressing to see what has become of it and that no one cares.

we had looked forward to this quaint, character-imbibed older hotel. The reality did not come close. It is really too bad such a facility has been allowed to deteriorate and clearly staff do not care. Our bathroom sink had no hot water either day or night that we were there. The photos on the website must have been taken more than 10 years ago as it is run down and dirty (carpeting is gross!) and nothing like the pictures. TV reception was poor on most stations did not come in--those that did were fuzzy and poor quality. The breakfast was extremely disappointing. With half hour left of the posted breakfast time remaining, on each morning we were there, they were already out of various menu items (pancake batter, pancake syrup, milk, eggs, bagels, etc). When anyone dared ask the attendant if there was any more of a particular item, she literally yelled at them for asking and told them there would not be anything more brought out for the rest of the breakfast. We had reserved a room for four, including a hide-a-bed, but there were only 2 or 3 towels in the bathroom and no linens or pillows or blankets for the hide-a-bed. When we asked for linens to be sent up, we received sheets and one pillow. No blanket or towels and no second pillow. Final straw was hearing the headboard banging against our wall and the commotion while the neighbors were apparently enjoying their...bedding.

I put 5 bottles of not opened water in the tub with 3 bags of ice on them, they were gone when I got back and there was another dead bug in the tub

I checked in and nowhere on travel zoo was the info that parking would be $25-30/per night. also when I was getting settled, there was a tick on the white bed spread!
