Have an African safari experience without the hassle of international travel. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is as close to an animal expedition as you can get without needing a passport.
As part of the trio of lodging options within Animal Kingdom, Kidani Village resembles the typical upscale accommodations one might find on a trip to the Sub-Sahara, but Disney-fied. The U-shaped building was patterned after a kraal, the South African word for the traditional circular village, with the village’s livestock kept in the center. Guests at the savannah-view villas can freely see more than 30 types of exotic animals right outside their windows. Wake up to the sight of a giraffe grazing on a tree just a few feet from your balcony.
Rooms continue the safari theme but with signature Disney touches like rustic wooden bed frames with lion silhouettes that resemble mouse ears carved into the headboards, and leopard-print carpets with hidden Mickeys in the patterns.
Kidani Village has all the kid-friendly amenities you’d expect from a House of Mouse property, such as multiple pools, waterslides and several African-themed restaurants with American favorites on the menu for less adventurous palates.
Past guests on TripAdvisor say it's worth it to pay extra for a savannah-view room and advise requesting a room close to the lobby to avoid long treks back and forth from the rooms to the amenities.
Guests of Disney Resort hotels receive the benefits of early FastPass+ access, extra hours in the theme parks, MagicBand bracelets for keyless room entry, theme park admission and purchases, complimentary parking and transportation within the resort and to the airport, as well as dining plans for every budget.
