Situated on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the Comfort Suites Michigan Avenue is an affordable city center pick. The central location means it’s often favored by business travelers, but it’s also a good option for families and those on a budget, with all-suite accommodations, making it great value for the money.

With only four suites per floor, accommodations are very private and start at 450 square feet. The units vary in size (from a studio to a two-bedroom apartment), but all include a full kitchen. A few of the suites have balconies, and some overlook the Chicago River. Request a room in the back for the quietest night. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, there is a small in-house gym and guest laundry facilities on the premises.

There's no restaurant on site, but a breakfast buffet is included and there is no shortage of dining options nearby. The hotel places guests in The Loop, home to Chicago’s best shopping, dining and sightseeing. It’s right on shoppers’ paradise Michigan Avenue (otherwise known as Magnificent Mile), and only three blocks from Millennium Park, where you’ll find the Art Institute and Lake Michigan. The nearest El train station (State/Lake) is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and there’s also a bus stop just outside.

Enjoyed Most: The view of Michigan Avenue bridge and the size of the suite.
Other Comments: We were very happy with our four nights at Comfort Inn Michigan Avenue. There were some minor things that could be improved: 1) Breakfast was pretty ordinary - selection was not bad but quality was mediocre, i.e. powdered eggs (or what tasted like powdered eggs), typical low-quality white flour carbs. There was a lot of crowding at peak hours, especially around hot food items. Appreciated having fresh fruit. Coffee was better than average breakfast bar. 2) We appreciated having a kitchen, but only one burner worked and it seemed many utensils were missing. However, it was more than adequate for a short stay. 3) Didn't like that there was only one ice machine - on the ground floor - and they were "chips" vs. proper ice cubes. 4) With only two elevators there was sometimes a long wait for one. 5) Hallway on 8th floor smelled “funky”. Inside room was ok. 6) Internet access was SLOW. 7) Both televisions were rather small and reception was grainy
